With a population of 1.8 million people, Hamburg is Germany’s second largest city. East Hamburg has become a popular area for all walks of life: it is a growing area with students, young families and refugees alike able to find affordable rent and social programmes to help them. 

And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing there, urging him and saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” And when Paul had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go on into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them. Acts 16:9–10 (ESV).

Since its foundation in the centre of Rome, the evangelical church Breccia di Roma has sought to impact its city by proclaiming the gospel, and by developing a network of other church planting efforts. Since 2012, Breccia di Roma felt it was right to focus prayer and outreach activities in the San Paolo area of Rome.
